HENRY COUNTY:   This past Sunday morning as I went to get into my vehicle leaving church, I heard Houston County Sheriff Chief Deputy Donald Valenza call out on Davis Street in Ashford with the other units. That was not usual so I knew something had happened.

In a few moments, I learned that Daniel Ingram had died.

Daniel Ingram was 35 years old. He is the son of Tim Ingram and Beverly Pickard.

I remember Daniel growing up. You would stop by Johnny Ingram Company and his mom would have Daniel on a blanket outside in the sun as he took a nap. In clear view of his protective mom where she could watch him. But enjoying the fresh air.

Daniel and his big brother John were friends. And I had the chance to watch them grow up.

Several years ago, John died in a motorcycle accident in Panama City Beach Florida. He was a Dothan Fireman at the time of his death.

John’s death took a toll on both Tim and Beverlye. John’s death took a greater toll on Daniel.

As I remember Daniel, I like to remember him as a child with no worries. A time of happiness and playing. A time at Grandma Ingram’s where she always had lunch prepared. A place I had the opportunity to place my feet under the table, welcomed and enjoying great food and fellowship. A time I had that I watched John and Daniel as they grew up.

I saw Tim on Sunday. I missed Beverlye at her parents home and I was gone at the time of the funeral and visitation.

Daniel, I thank GOD that I knew you. And you are at peace now in God’s hands.

To Tim and Beverlye…you were SUPER parents to your sons as they grew up and lived life. I know this week and the days ahead will be very heavy, but always look up. Remember the good times. Nothing I can say or anyone can say will make the days ahead easier. Just know you will be surrounded in prayer by many people you know and many more you do not know.

The Footprints in the Sand has meaning and impact on your life as you move forward.

As I have walked through life this week I have thought a lot of the 35 years of Daniel Ingram. Some of the years Daniel had positive issues and some negative issues. But in Daniel, inside, he was a good man. He had struggles and challenges, and life threw him curve balls. But the real Daniel was a good man.

May God Bless ALL of the family. May he wrap HIS loving arms around Tim and Beverlye giving each of you peace.

To Daniel’s children, your dad loved each of you.
