HOUSTON COUNTY: Tonight Marc Mero was at Ridgecrest Baptist Church and spoke to the youth group. Mero delivers a powerful message for all age groups.
Mero was successful. He was a millionaire with several homes. Mero was a amateur boxer and a professional wrestler. With success came choices that Mero made. Those choices, while financially successful, led him to anabolic steroids and recreational drugs.
Mero made choices of who to be around. Those choices led him to continue his drug use and his life spiral out of control. Finally Mero describes how he had enough and was in the shower about to take his life. As he was standing in the shower with a gun to his head, life began to flash in his mind. And that is when he saw the answer.
The answer, was not historically knowing who GOD is, but the answer was having a relationship with GOD. While seconds away from taking his own life, GOD revealed HIMSELF to Marc Mero. He had a purpose in life.
In June and July 2007 Marc Mero spoke about the murder - suicide of Chris Beniot. He spoke of the drug use in wrestling. Mero was criticized and called names when he spoke of the drug use of both prescription medicine and recreational drugs. But Mero continued his speaking of the evils of the drugs.
Mero describes it’s not what’s in your pocket that buys happiness, it’s what is in your heart that truly matters.
Mero said we all make choices. Those choices, to include who we choose to be around, defines our life and what we will be. Mero cautions about the choices we make.
Mero tells the youth, GOD is the choice and the right choice. Do not know HIM historically, but KNOW HIM in your heart. Have a relationship with GOD. That relationship will deliver you from the dark life you might be in.
Mero delivers a great message. He is speaking at several schools this week. On Thursday he will be at Rehobeth.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, Assistant Jail Commander James Brazier and Ozark Police Captain Blakenship have been with Mero and getting him to the schools. Last year Dale - Geneva County District Attorney Kirke Adams had Mero in schools. The message he delivers is powerful and inspirational to the young people and adults.
CHOICES - they define us. The CHOICE to have a personal relationship with CHRIST will define us for eternity.
