On Monday July 14, 2014, at approximately 10:10 A.M., an Investigator with the Jackson County Drug Task Force was at the Mobile gas station located at the intersection of Kelson Avenue and Jefferson Street in Marianna, Florida. While at this location the investigator observed Abram Sheawa seated in the back seat passenger side of a gray in color Chevrolet extra-cab truck. This subject was known by the Investigator to have active warrants for his arrest for strong-arm robbery and aggravated battery.
Upon the arrival of other Investigators contact was made with Abram Sheawa, who was still seated in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. During the contact the Investigators gave several verbal commands, advising Sheawa to show his hands and not to move. Sheawa ignored the verbal commands given by the Investigators and continued to move his hands toward his waistband. The Investigators again told Sheawa not to move and then advised him to place his hands outside the window of vehicle. Sheawa did comply with this order and was secured with handcuffs.
While exiting the vehicle Sheawa braced himself in the doorway of the vehicle in an attempt to resist exiting the vehicle. Sheawa was then physically removed from the door of the vehicle and placed on the ground by the Investigators. Upon a search of Sheawa’s person a plastic bag containing less than 20 grams of marijuana was located in right hand pocket of his shorts. Discovered in the left hand pocket of his shorts was a plastic bag that contained four smaller bags of suspected cocaine. The approximate weight of the cocaine was approximately 2 grams and when field-tested did show a presumptive positive for cocaine.
Abram Sheawa was placed under arrest and later lodged at the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await First Appearance.
