Jackson County Drug Task Force Makes Another Arrest

On Monday, August 4, 2014 units with the Jackson County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a Blue Nissan for a traffic infraction, at the entrance to Commercial Park Drive on Hwy 71 South. During the traffic stop the driver was identified as Ronald E Grant Jr. Also in the vehicle was Grant’s son, Ronald E Grant III.
During the traffic stop, Investigators established probable cause to search the vehicle. A search of the vehicle produced 42 grams of pseudoephedrine pills, five (5) lithium batteries, and a bottle of lye. These items are commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine. A number of these items were concealed in the vehicle. Also, the search produced fourteen (14) loose pills that were identified to be hydrocodone.
The total amount of pseudoephedrine pills located in the vehicle was in excess of the trafficking threshold. At the conclusion of the investigation, Ronald Grant Jr. and Ronald Grant III were arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail to await first appearance. Their charges are as follows:
Ronald E Grant Jr. W/M 52 years of age.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, Hydrocodone
Trafficking in Amphetamine (Pseudoephedrine)
Ronald E Grant III W/M 27 years of age.

Charges:
Attempt to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Hydrocodone
Trafficking in Amphetamine (Pseudoephedrine)
