Jackson County Fl Charge Two with Aggravated Child Abuse

On August 30, 2014, at approximately 11:48 p.m., Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Callaway St. with the Department of Children and Family Services in reference to a child abuse complaint. Upon arrival Deputies found three children, ages 2, 3, and 4 years of age, in the care and custody of their parents, Shane Ratliff and Constance Ratliff. Two of the children were locked in different bedrooms by make-shift cage like doors. Each of the two children was found lying in the floor with no beds or furniture in the bedrooms. Both of the rooms were infested with roaches and the floors were covered in trash. One of the bedrooms had numerous dirty diapers scattered about the floor. The rest of the house was infested with roaches and cat feces. Shane Ratliff and Constance Ratliff were arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Child Abuse and one count of Child Abuse. Department of Children and Families took custody of the three children and placed them in a safe environment.
