Jackson County Sheriff’s Make Arrest

On May 2nd, 2012 the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested David Bostic Jr. and Kayla Nicole Jones for Grand Theft and Dealing in Stolen Property. Bostic and Jones stole an outdoor air conditioner unit from a residence on Hwy 273 in Campbellton, Florida. Bostic and Jones also stole electrical wiring and copper water lines from under the residence. Both Bostic and Jones sold the copper and a/c parts to a scrap yard in Dothan, Alabama.
Bostic and Jones were also charged with Burglary, Grand Theft and Dealing in Stolen Property for removing an air conditioner, electrical wires and copper water lines from the Southern States Building on Smokey Road in Graceville, Florida. Both Bostic and Jones also sold the copper, wiring and a/c parts to a scrap yard in Dothan, Alabama.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has worked numerous a/c thefts and copper thefts in the Northwest section of Jackson County since early 2011. Bostic and Jones are suspects in these thefts as well and charges are pending in these cases. Bostic and Jones are also suspects in thefts of air conditioners and copper wiring in surrounding counties as well as in Alabama.
David Bostic Jr. and Kayla Jones were arrested and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility. Although Kayla Jones is a juvenile, the State Attorney’s Office direct filed the charges on her allowing her to be treated as an adult.
