LEE COUNTY: Today at 12:22 PM defense counsel for former Alabama Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard filed a Motion For Investigation By Lee County Sheriff Into Juror Misconduct.
The motion that was filed makes allegations that comments were made by multiple jurors that led to believe that several jurors were biased against Mr. Hubbard before all of the evidence was presented, even as early as the first day of the trial.
The motion also makes allegations that a juror witnessed comments from other jurors regarding the amount of Mr. Hubbard's private contracts, both while in the jury box and while in the jury room, and jurors expressed opinion on Mr. Hubbard's guilt "very early in the trial".
The motion also makes allegations of a juror comment before the defense presented their case. The comment is alleged that Mr. Hubbard should "just plead out", to which two other jurors agreed.
