What a testimony! You will see Hoke Granger's comments about his dad. What a testimony about his dad.

If you have lived very long in this area then you will have heard of...The Grangers.

The Grangers are Keith and Terry Granger and their children. They have been an icon for years in the Dothan - Houston County area.

While Keith Granger was a doctor at Southern Bone and Joint Center and was a very good physician, that is not the legacy in particular I want to mention.

The legacy of Keith Granger is one I think of greater importance than his great ability as a physician.

The legacy I would like to mention is Keith Granger's example of a Christian man.

Keith Granger was the spiritual leader of his family. He set the bar, along with his wife Terry by his side, in his family's spiritual worship. Keith Granger set the bar for a Christian man.

The legacy I would like to mention is Keith Granger's example of a husband and father.

You always saw Keith and Terry being a team in their children's lives. While Terry was the primary care giver while Keith worked helping lives, you understood they were "together" and a 'team". Devoted to Christ first, then each other and their children.

When you went to the ball park..well that white extended van would be there. So would Keith and Terry Granger and Terry's mom. Always attentive to the child playing ball and the children in attendance. The Granger's, always the best behaved kids in the park.

Keith Granger, the legacy of a Christian man, husband and father. And the legacy of a friend to many.

Keith Granger was a friend to Terrill McCord, my step dad. It was Keith Granger that Terrill went to when he was not feeling well. It was Keith Granger that went on a Saturday and told Terrill he had cancer. It was Keith Granger that Terrill followed his care plan and advise of how to treat his cancer.

Keith Granger was Terrill's friend. He was also a friend to many.

This morning I saw Terrill's son Gary. I mentioned to him there are different belief's on what heaven is about. But, there was a possible reunion between Keith Granger and Terrill McCord this weekend. And it is a good guess, there was a conversation about cows...

A lot of the parents who were around the Granger's, well they did not call the emergency room, they called Keith Granger for treatment options to the injuries.

And he was always Keith.

While he earned the title of doctor, and he served that title with honor, dignity and professionalism, he was Keith. Plan and simple, a man who loved his wife and family, that enjoyed people. He was common and never above a simple man who loved people. Oh, and loved to hunt!!!

A facebook post by Keith and Terry Granger's son Hoke. A tribute by his son to his dad.

On March 15, at 9:02 last night, my Dad closed his eyes one final time and opened them in Heaven. He's gone home now. His suffering is over and he'll never hurt again. The peace I have in knowing where he is is indescribable. I've cried tea...rs of joy knowing he's seen Jesus face to face. He did so well. I'm so proud of him. What a man and father he was. I'm so blessed.

In his last days when he could barely respond, the one thing that was always clear, "I love you." My father did not die with his family wondering if he loved them or if he had done everything he could to be with them. My family is broken hearted. We will miss my dad so much. But we are not angry, we are not bitter. Either what we say we believe is real, or it isn't. And we believe with every fiber of our being that Jesus has conquered the grave and that our earthly father is now with The Lord God Almighty.

I sat by my father's bed during his last days holding his hand, and was able to tell him everything I could ever want to tell him. God has been faithful and His Holy Spirit had filled our home. As he took his last breaths, as a family we sang to him, Pass It On. Which he would sing to me and my siblings every night before bed when we were little.

I would like to thank everyone so much for all the love and prayers that have been poured out over our family. We are so proud of our father. My sole desire for the days to come is that God will be glorified through our family and through remembering our Dad's remarkable life. If you do not know Christ, I so greatly urge you to get to know Him. The peace my family has is not that of our own. If what we say we believe is real, my father has never been happier and is walking on streets of gold. That someone could go through this without knowing Christ truly breaks my heart. There is only one way to The Father(Heaven) and that is through Christ Jesus. Not good deeds or living a remarkable life, but solely through the Grace of God. We will praise God in this trial and we thank him for the overwhelming peace He has given us in this hard time. I love my Daddy so much. I could never put into words or show anyone how truly in love with his family Keith Granger was. But I know, and my Family knows-That is for sure. My mother has been truly remarkable in holding our family together. Her words are real, what she believes is real, and what she says she believes- she believes. My family has been so blessed to have had two parents that have raised and loved us the way they have. We will never have any excuse for not exemplifying Christ-likeness.

For now, I rest in knowing where my Daddy is. He's having the time of his life. We will all see him again one day and he'll be waiting for us with open arms. That is something which I do not have a single doubt. There is no greater peace than knowing all of those you love and care for the most have a personal relationship with Christ. I am so thankful that D. Keith Granger M.D. Is my daddy and for the 21 years of my life I got to spend with him. What a man. I am truly blessed.

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
