Laurel Hill Man Charged for Paxton School Bomb Threat
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to Paxton K-12 School after officials were notified of a bomb threat via email this morning (Monday). Students and staff were immediately evacuated from the school and emergency responders remained on scene. A bomb dog and its handler from Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrived and conducted a search of the school, buses and vehicles and nothing was found. Within four hours of the initial call coming into the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch, investigators had a man in custody. Adam Joseph Allen, 30, of 1906 Huckaba Road, Laurel Hill, was arrested and charged with threat to throw, project, place or discharge any destructive device. In the email, Allen stated the bomb was a pipe bomb. A cyber-crimes investigator was able to track the email’s IP address to Allen’s home.
