This week high school kids from around the wiregrass are getting the opportunity to learn what a CSI does.  We spoke to Sheriff Andy Hughes about the class and he said he was honored that TSUD asked the sheriff’s Office to be a part of this first of its kind class.

Dothan Police Department CSI Jon Thomas was teaching today’s class on Crime Scene Reconstruction.  Thomas showed the students how to find and recover finger prints, and other aspects involved with the reconstruction of a crime.  This is one of the most important aspects of the job, it shows how and sometime even who did the crime and how to prove it.

Every day is a different part of law enforcement, Monday the students got to see firsthand how and why blood hound tracking dogs are so important, Wednesday will be bombs and crime scenes where bombs were used.

This will give these students the ability to try this profession and decide if in fact it is for them.
