The Board of Directors of WRC, Inc. todayannounced that Jack Sasser will retire as President after nearly 19 years of service to the private, non-profit organization.  WRC’s Board named Paul W. Lee to succeed Sasser as Executive Director.


"Paul is a strong, innovative, hardworking, dedicated individual with 36 years of manufacturing management and leadership experience. He is passionate about economic development and serving others,” said WRC Board Chairman Anthony McCallister.  McCallister added, “Paul’s deep sense of commitment to WRC coupled with his breadth of perspective and experience in the business sector at executive and leadership levels will lead WRC’s movement to its next phase of innovation and growth.”


McCallisterstated, "On behalf of the Board, I sincerely thank Dr. Sasser for his valuable contributions and outstanding service throughout his career at WRC. We will be indebted for his passionate leadership, business acumen, and dedication."


In announcing his retirement for later this year, Sasser said "It's tough to say goodbye to the WRC Family, but there is a time and season for everything. I am truly confident as I pass the reins over to Paul,that the staff, employees and community will receive him well as hecontinues to move WRC’s programs and services forward."


Lee, who currently serves as Alabama Representative House District 86, ended his 30-year tenure with SONY Magnetic Products, Inc.as senior production specialist in 2010 when the Dothan-based plant closed. Lee was a leader in development of new products for SONY Dothan while maintaining and improving the quality of production, maintenance and engineering. In 2010, Lee joined the WDHN-TV Multi-Media Sales team and was top sales leader the past four years. Lee was elected and served as Dothan City Commissioner District 3 for two terms from 2005-2010. Lee’s community involvement includes the Wiregrass United Way (past Houston County Chair), Leadership Alabama, and the Dothan Rotary Club.  Lee was a member of the Houston County Healthcare Authority from 1996-2005 where he served as Vice Chairman.

Regarding Lee’s new position at the private, non-profit, McCallister stated, “The Alabama Ethics Committee ruled unanimously that there is no conflict in Representative Lee serving in this position at WRC.”  


As Executive Director, Lee will be responsible with growing and enforcing the vision of the organization, supervising staff, creating and implementing a strategic plan that will ensure sustainability and good management of WRC’s resources.”


McCallister commented, "The Board will be engaged with Paul and WRC’s leadership team to drive WRC’s future success.Paul’s way of embracing, listening to, and collaborating with WRC’s community partners will sustain our success.”


Lee and his wifeEllen have one daughter, Beth, a student at Troy University. They are members of Logos Baptist Church in Dothan.


For nearly 60 years, WRC’s mission has been to furnish every person who wants to work, regardless of their limitations, a fair opportunity to earn a living. WRC offers a full range of services to include lawn care, janitorial, retail, shredding, catering, healthcare laundry, and manufacturingpackaging. Numerous partnerships between healthcare providers, businesses, industries, service groups, individuals and governmental agencies make it possible for WRC to provide training and employment for individuals with disabilities in AL, GA, and FL.
