DOTHAN:    And the saga of Dothan City Attorney Len White has continued for years.

It was August 1996 that Dothan Building Official Wylie Yelverton has to file for a Permanent Injunction on Dothan City Attorney Len White.

Yelverton, a black male, was forced to seek help in Houston County Circuit Court because Len White, a white male set a course of continuous harassment by stalking, threatening gestures, and verbal acts calculated to make Yelverton angry or to provoke him to act in a violent way towards White. 

Yelverton was afraid for his safety because of the acts of Len White. In addition Yelverton claimed that Len White's acts was harmful to his health.

The case was assigned to 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Denny Holloway. Within some 15 days of Yelverton seeking help from Circuit Court, Judge Order entered a ORDER that restrained Len White from intimidating or harassing Yelverton in any way whatsoever.

Then on July 1, 1997 Yelverton has to seek help for the second time from Houston County Circuit Court. Yelverton was trying to enter the Dothan Civic Center to go to work and stated that Len White held the door and prevented Yelverton from entering the Dothan Civic Center.

Yelverton also claimed that on May 6, 1997 that Len White drove his vehicle into the crosswalk at the Dothan Civic Center and prevented Yelverton from crossing the road. Yelverton attempted to go around Len White's vehicle and Yelverton stated that Len White put his vehicle in reverse and backed up again blocking Yelverton from crossing the road. 

So then Yelverton attempted to change directions and go in front of Len White's vehicle. What did White do? Yelverton stated that Len White pulled forward. And the sequence of events occurred again.

Again Judge Holloway had to enter court orders against Len White.

Yelverton also served as Houston County Commissioner.

PATTERN AND PRACTICE

These events were in 1996 and 1997. And no Dothan Official has done anything to Len White except give him raises. 

In 2009 you see a video where Len White was on the City of Dothan vehicle on a Sunday acting the fool.

Additional complaints have been filed on Len White. Nothing. The EEO and Personnel Director were directed to conduct investigations into White and never conducted any investigations.

THIS WEEK IN HOUSTON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT

This week, in Houston County Circuit Court, lawyers under the command and control of Len White, failed to notify the Judge in a case of circumstances very relevant to the case. 

A black Dothan Commissioner, Amos Newsome, was not present for docket call. An error of his legal counsel.

Judge Conaway remanded Newsome's case back to Dothan Municipal Court.

The attorneys for the City of Dothan Legal Department failed to notify Judge Conaway the Judge in the Dothan Municipal Court case was illegally appointed. 

Newsome attorney was able to get the case re-instated in Circuit Court. It is going to be interesting in what Len White's legal department does since their legal advise to Mayor Schmitz and members of the Dothan Commission has been in violation of the laws of the State of Alabama.

And it is interesting how the attorney's who work under Len White would hide relevant and important facts from the Judge in a case involving a sitting Dothan Commissioner.

But the trend has continued since 1996. All of the officials with the City of Dothan in leadership are scared to death of Len White. He does absolutely what he wants, does not obey court orders, runs over people.

And the leaders allow it.
