DOTHAN: On October 27th Lynda Stacey walked back in the house after walking the dogs. Lynda told her son Toby and daughter in law she was not feeling well. As Lynda grabbed her head, she collapsed to the floor.
Dothan Fire Department responded and before they could get Lynda to Flowers Hospital she had passed from this life to heaven.
Lynda Stacey was married to Jack Stacey and they had three children, all boys. Lynda worked with Sam’s Club. She loved her family. Lynda’s grandchildren were the apple of her eyes.
Recently one of Lynda’s children, Michael and his wife found in their son’s backpack a handwritten letter. After reading the letter and shedding many tears, they have shared the letter.
The letter is written by their 11 year old son Clayton. In the letter Clayton explains the true meaning of Christmas and what he wants for Christmas.
The first printed letter is written by Lynda’s son Michael, who also serves as a Houston County Sheriff Deputy. Michael’s letter explains Clayton and about their finding Clayton’s letter.
The second letter is a copy of the handwritten letter written by Clayton.
As Christmas Day Approaches…
As Christmas Day approaches, we remember our loved ones which have passed before us. We will remember the traditions and customs our parents and grandparents have established for us.
As we progress through Christmas, let us remember each one that has lost a loved one and this is the first holidays the family celebrates without them.
There is no doubt the traditions and customs established in the Stacey home and led by Lynda, will be different. But give thanks to GOD for the time you had, for the wonderful memories and thoughts you have of a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Also remember, born in a manager, Christ the Lord was born. Born in poverty and humility to live and walk this earth, to later die on the cross with His arms open wide for all of our sins. Then three days later on Easter HE arose to heaven where he awaits for all that have come to know Him.
Lynda is in heaven watching over us where one day, if we believe and trust in Jesus Christ, we will again join her.
Clayton…Nanny is all smiles over your display of love for her. Rest assured, Nanny loves you very…very…much.
