You can just about feel it coming. Nov. 26 is Thanksgiving Day and after that… IT’S CHRISTMAAAAS!
Got kids already thinking about Santa’s visit? Have they written Santa yet? If so, what would happen if they got a letter back from him telling how much he’s looking forward to the trip? The Prevention Project is helping the… Big Guy by taking his letters and delivering them to youngsters throughout Dothan and Houston County.
A visit to www.wiregrasspartnership.com will provide all the information parents need to get a letter from Santa, complete with “From the Desk of Santa” letterhead, handwritten personalized message, quality red (or black) envelope addressed to the recipient, and … a candy cane!
Parents can email information if living outside the Dothan area or swing by The Prevention Project’s office at 355 N. Oates St. Santa has placed a special mailbox in the parking lot. Children can place their letter in the mailbox and it will be checked daily by the busy elves at The Prevention Project.
“This is a project that is becoming one of our favorites,” said Prevention Project Executive Director Susan Trawick. “Parents taking part in our effort can bring their children joy while knowing, at the same time, they are helping spread the word about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and tobacco.”
The cost of each letter is $5, which goes to Prevention Project activities. For more information, go to wiregrasspartnership.com and look under “Letters to Santa” or contact Beth Ford at 334-699-2813.
Letters will be taken through Dec. 17. But don’t delay, it’s almost… well, you know. Ho! Ho! Ho!
