“Mmmmerrrrry Christmas, Ho, Ho, Ho!!!” That’s right, it’s the jolly man himself.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are on their way to Ashford for the annual Christmas Parade Saturday, Dec 5 at 10 a.m. The City Christmas tree is decorated and lit. Elves have been busy decorating the town and Historic Train Depot in preparation for their arrival.
Grand Marshal Geno Whaley is the son of Gene and Ruby Whaley. He has lived most of his life in Ashford, is a graduate of Ashford High School and a member of Ashford United Methodist Church. He will lead a large parade of local and area businesses, representatives from surrounding towns, church groups, school groups, entertainment groups, civic groups, state and local government leaders all coming to Ashford to celebrate the Christmas season.
Join us after the parade for “Christmas at the Depot”… Inside the Depot, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be waiting to greet each child and hear the all-important whispered Christmas wishes. They contacted many elves so all the children can enjoy a special puppet show. Also inside the Depot, the Ashford Area Heritage Foundation will hold a bake sale, as well as have the 2015 and 2016 City Christmas ornaments for sale.
The Ashford All Male Chorus will sing as we celebrate Christmas.
We look forward to seeing everyone Saturday.
From Ashford, “We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
