Luther Against Lottery

MONTGOMERY:    Big Luther is giving his two cents worth about the lottery.


PLEASE NOTE:   If Alabama had all of the money Luther and his buddy Bob had spent giving the Indians a monopoly we would probably not have a funding problem in Alabama. Luther is one of the problems with medicaid and the children going without medical treatment because of his waste of money.


Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange on Tuesday issued a statement opposing a lottery to help fund state government. But he said the governor's proposal is the least likely among competing plans to lead to casino gambling and a protracted legal fight.


 "I am personally opposed to any lottery to fund state government," Strange stated. "I believe the lottery is, at best, a band aid on the state's budgetary problems and will not provide the kind of long-term solution we need."
