Macon County Sheriff Says Bingo Machines are Legal - Testing Lab Said Machines Are Bingo

MACON COUNTY: This afternoon a press conference was held at Victoryland in Macon County by Macon County Sheriff David Warren and his atorney James Anderson. The Sheriff had the testing lab present which declared the machines at Victoryland as legal bingo according to the Constitutional Amendment passed in the State of Alabama - Macon County.
Also present for the press conference was Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford. Ford filed ethics complaints against Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange this morning. Further civil rights actions in the United States Federal Court are forthcoming against AG Strange and others by Mayor Ford.
Sheriff Warren said the machines match those beig played at the Alabama Indian Casinos. Sheriff Warren said with computers in cars where you key in a address and a vocie guides you, computers which tell you that your car is out of gas, and technology, how can you think that bingo can not be played on a computer.
No specific date was announced. However there are 1,000 machines in place at Victoryland. The testing lab said a stand alone machine with one player will not operate. However two players with the machines connected to a server will play, will play legal bingo.
Attorney General Luther Strange, who is attempting to carry out the mandates given to him by former Alabama Governor Bob Riley, who got Strange elected as Attorney General has made threats against Victoryland if they open.
Alabama Governor Robert Bentley and the majority of the Alabama Legislature have refused to allow the people to vote statewide. All the Alabama Supreme Court members can do is complain about being broke.
