” October 10, 2016 MAN PULLS GUN IN DESTIN ROAD RAGE INCIDENT A Kentucky man is charged with pointing a gun at a Texas couple during a road rage incident on the Marler Bridge in Destin. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged 19-year old Kendall McFarland of Russell Springs with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed firearm. A Texas couple reported they were crossing the bridge in the right lane Sunday around 10:20 a.m. when a man began tailgating them.

They say the driver then pulled alongside them and hand motions were exchanged. McFarland is accused of then grabbing a firearm out of his dash console, pulling the slide back, and pointing it out the window at the couple. The victims called 9-1-1 with a description of the vehicle and the tag number. OCSO deputies located the suspect’s SUV near Gulf Shore Drive and Moreno Point Road. After conducting a traffic stop they say McFarland said “There is a gun under the front seat.”

The victims showed up and positively identified McFarland. Deputies found a Taurus 9 mm with ammunition in the magazine in the vehicle. McFarland does not have a concealed carry permit. McFarland told deputies he was angry because the other car’s driver was going under the speed limit in the fast lane.
