Man Critically Injured in Escambia County Crash

Esccambia County, Florida: The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that critically injured one man. The crash occurred on 1-12-13. The crash report shows that a 1989 Ford van was traveling eastbound on U.S. 98. A 2003 Harley Davidson Motorcycle was traveling westbound on U.S. 98. The driver of the Ford van failed to yield the right of way for the motorcycle and attempted to make a left tuen into the driveway of the Crazy Horse Cafe. As a result of the driver's actions, the motorcycle collided with the van in the side. After the collision, the driver of the motorcycle was thrown to the ground. The motorcycle was pinned under the Ford van. The driver of the motorcycle, Philip J. Melton, 47, of Pace, Florida, was critically injured in the crash.
