A 2001 Nissan Xterra was improperly parked in the golf course located at 3070 PGA Blvd. for unknown reasons. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the golf course to check the status of the Xterra. Santa Rosa County Deputies arrived on scene, knocked on the window of the Xterra, which awakened the driver and startled him. As a result, the driver of the Xterra stepped on the accelerator of the vehicle, and began to travel West through the golf course. Santa Rosa County Deputies then began to chase the vehicle on foot. The vehicle continued traveling West before entering into the backyard of the residence of 2770 Masters Blvd. The front of the vehicle struck a screen lanai at the back of the residence. The driver of the vehicle, Kenneth J. Gonzalez, 21, of Navarre, Floirda, was charged with DUI with Property Damage and Careless Driving.
