Man Has Heart Attack And Accidentally Hits Vehicle In Walton County

Christopher S. Laird was operating a 1997 GMC truck and was backing from a praking space at the Tom Thumb Store at 22520 U.S. 331. Laird had a medical episode while driving the GMC truck. The rear of the GMC backed into the right front of a 1988 Chevrolet truck which was unoccupied and parked at the gas pumps behind the GMC causing minor damage to both vehicles. Laird was transported to Florala Memorial Hospital in Florala, Alabama in cardiac arrest. Laird was prnounced deceased a short time later after arriving at the hospital. It is concluded that Laird suffered a Heart Attack while driving. Laird was pronounced deceased at 10:37 a.m. CST by Doctor Nigel Palmer at Florala Memorial Hospital on July 14, 2012.
