Man In Critical Condition Following Santa Rosa County Motorcycle Crash

This crash occurred on on U.S. Highway 98 (State Road 30) and the area of Villa Biscaya Drive, Santa Rosa County, Florida. The motorcycle was traveling West on U.S. Highway 98 in the outside lane. A 2003 Volkswagen was traveling West on U.S. Highway 98 , in the inside lane. The Volkswagen came up behind an SUV and changed into the outside lane in an attempt to overtake it. The driver of the Volkswagen did not see the motorcycle, in the outside lane, and collided the Volkswagen's front with the motorcycle's rear. After impact, the driver of the motorcycle was ejected from his motorcycle and came to a final rest, laying in the westbound, inside lane. The Volkswagen and the Motorcycle came to a final rest in the median of U.S. Highway 98. The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the Volkswagen was treated on the scene foe minor injuries and was released. The driver of the Motorcycle has been identified as Jared Morgan, 29, of Navarre, Florida. The driver of the Volkswagen was charged with Careless Driving.
