Man Passed Out in Vehicle is Arrest for Drugs

On June 11th, 2016 at approximately 1:28am, officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to the Chipola Mart, located at 4195 Lafayette Street, in reference to a subject passed out in a vehicle. Upon arrival officers were able to wake the subject and were able to identify him as Kristopher Martin. While Martin was speaking with officers, officers observed marijuana, in plain view, in the driver’s side floorboard of the vehicle.
A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search officers located a small bag that contained a smoking pipe, a vial containing methamphetamine, and a small bag containing methamphetamine. These items were located in the driver’s seat where Martin was sitting in the vehicle. Martin was arrested and charged with the above mentioned charges. Martin was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
