Man Seriously Injured In Okaloosa County Crash

A 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling southbounf on Airport Road approaching the intersection of Poverty Creek Road. A 1999 Dodge Durango was traveling northbound on Airport Road appraoching the intersection of Poverty Creek Road. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee swerved the Cherokee aggressively to the left in a failed attempt to turn onto Poverty Creek Road. The Cherokee then entered into the direct path of the Durango. The front of the Cherokee collided with the front of the Durango. The Durango was redirected to the right due to the collision. The Cherokee rotated to the left.

The driver of the Durango, John Taylor Lewis Jr., 44, of Crestview, Florida, was Seriously Injured in the crash. Lewis was transported to North Okaloosa Medical Center. The driver of the Cherokee, Matthew Blake Kilcrease, 22, of Crestview, Florida, escaped the crash with minor injuries. Charges are pending Kilcrease upon completion of the investigation.
