Today members of the Dothan - Houston County E911 Advisory Committee toured the Mobile 911 Center. When I was leaving Mobile and came into Baldwin County, I saw all of the law enforcement vehicles and crime scene tape. Tonight I went on AL.COM and saw what happen.

A man committed suicide on I-10 near Daphne Wednesday afternoon after police recognized the vehicle he was driving was connected to a homicide investigation in Indiana, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.

A "be on the lookout," or BOLO alert for a truck and a suspect was issued to officials around 1 p.m. and within minutes of receiving the information a deputy spotted the truck near Loxley, according to Anthony Lowery with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle which was connected to a homicide investigation in Indiana, according to Lowery. Deputies got the vehicle to stop, ordered the driver out of the truck, and the driver of the truck shot himself while sitting inside the vehicle, according to Lowery.

Lowery said the truck never exceeded 65 miles per hour and the driver did not break any rules of the road.

Lowery said the truck involved was the truck on the BOLO, but he cannot confirm that the man involved was the suspect described in the BOLO. According to Lowery, the man in the BOLO was described as armed and dangerous, and officials were instructed to use all caution.

The Baldwin County Sheriff's office is working with Indiana authorities to aid in the investigation.

The incident caused one lane of traffic to close temporarily, causing a traffic backup along I-10 westbound.
