Man with Flat Tire Finds Himself in Hot Water

Houston County Sheriff's Deputy observed a red SUV pulled off Hwy 231 S. and Harden Rd. Deputy Jenkins pulled up to assist a Hispanic male who had a flat tire. As Deputy Jenkins approached the vehicle he observed the Fl. tag had been altered.
The correct tag information was ran and a hit reply indicated the vehicle was stolen out of the Tampa Fl. area. The Hispanic male was detained by Deputy Jenkins. During the investigation by Deputy Jenkins the subject gave a false name and information to hide his identity.
It was determined the name was false and the subject gave Deputy Jenkins his real name. NCIC indicated the subject FERNANDO HERRERA 40 year old Hispanic male was wanted in the state of Texas for Aggravated Robbery 1st, Credit Card Abuse. Herrera also stated that a white male bald head wearing a AC/DC shirt ran into the woods behind a building possibly armed.
Houston County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of Cottonwood Police Dept., Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office, and ALEA set up a perimeter and search the area with Houston County K-9 units and Droid units. There was no sign of a second subject.
Herrera has been charged by Houston County Sheriff's Office on the following charges:
Receiving Stolen Property 1st Class B felony NO BOND
Bringing Stolen Property into the State Class B felony NO BOND
False Identity to Obstruct Justice Class C felony NO BOND
Fugitive from Justice NO BOND
The case is still being investigated and additional charges pending
