Man with Machete Goes to Jail

Chipley: The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Stephen Jacob McDonald wanted in connection with a machete attack on an adult male Monday afternoon.
At approximately 2:57 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a physical altercation at 2329 Radcliff Circle.
The initial call included information that an adult male in the home had been cut by his roommate with a machete. WCSO officers and Washington County EMS were dispatched immediately to the residence.
After arriving on scene, the suspect fled on foot from the rear of the residence. Officers made entry into the home and found an adult male whose hand was almost completely severed in the area of the wrist along with numerous other cuts. All injuries appear to be non-life threatening. The victim was transported to Bay Medical.
Officers secured the scene and subsequently pursued McDonald on foot. Northwest Florida Reception Center K9 team was activated to assist with the ground pursuit.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. officers with Washington County Sheriff’s Office were able to take McDonald into custody without incident.
