Many Divorces Now Go To Mediation

DOTHAN:   Changes in the way things are done.

Many divorces over the years have cost many a person their jobs, to include Judges. And in the divorce cases, when there is infidelity, many a spouse want revenge more than things.

The revenge still exists today, not just for infidelity, but for other reasons. However, with those in the system realizing no one wins in a divorce case, the system push more towards mediation.

Firms like Lewis, Brackin, Flowers and Johnson and former Circuit Judge Denny Holloway are some to the "mediators" who attempt to rationalize with each side to reach a settlement. While there is revenge, the system does not penalize the parties the way they did in the old days for the sins committed in a marriage.

Tis the season to be jolly, but the every day world still continues. Even this week, the week of Christmas, the week OUR Lord and Savior was born, divorce mediation continues to exist. Parties are in negotiation with mediators attempting to resolve their years of marriage.

The system has gotten wise. They can not win in a court ruling on domestic issues. But if each party reasonably negotiates for a settlement, then the Court rubber stamps the settlement rather than having to make the decision.

But if the mediation fails, then the case will be tried in court.

And then, even some still lose their jobs because they are not focused in work. And when the sins committed even affects those they work for or around. The parties can not regain the trust of those who they work for.

So no winners in divorce cases, no matter how it ends up!
