Marianna Arrest Two on Drug Charges

On July 7th, 2014 at approximately 10:43 a.m., Officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a Green Ford F150 truck on Lafayette St. after the truck failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of a patrol vehicle. Officer made contact with the driver was identified as Grant Darrell Orr of Panama City. There was a passenger in the vehicle who was identified as Justin Sherard Turntime also of Panama City. During the traffic stop Officer’s conducted a probale cause search of the vehicle after Officer’s were able to smell the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Officer’s asked Orr to exit the vehicle and as Orr exited the vehicle he attempted to destroy a marijuana cigarette. Orr and Turntime were then detained and a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, several small pieces of cocaine were recovered from the driver’s floorboard as if Orr had attempted to destroy the cocaine by grinding it into the carpet of the vehicle. Also located was a second marijuana cigarette as well as a small baggy of marijuana in the immediate reach of Turntime. It was also discovered that Orr had travelled to Marianna for a court appearance where he was placed on probation for an unrelated charge. Orr and Turntime were both arrested and charged with the above listed charges and were transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility where they will await first appearance.
