On December 16th, 2012 at approximately 10:26 a.m., officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a Gold Toyota passenger vehicle on Clay St. for the traffic infraction of failing to obey a stop sign. The driver of the vehicle later identified as Coleman McKinnon III exited his vehicle and refused officers command to remain in the vehicle. Officers then attempted to pat the driver down and McKinnon pushed off of an officer and became physically resistant. McKinnon was then tased but was able to fight through the taser and continued to ignore officer’s commands. McKinnon was then tased a second time at which time he went to the ground and retrieved a small container from his pocket and threw it under the porch of a residence. McKinnon was then taken into custody and the container that he threw was recovered and contained crack cocaine. McKinnon was then transported to the Marianna Police Department for processing and later transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility where he will await first appearance on the above listed charges.
