Marianna Man Arrested on Mulltiple Drucg Charges

As a result of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics in the City of Marianna, a search warrant was served on Monday, November 07, 2016 by the Marianna Police Department with assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Jackson Correctional Institutions K-9 team. The target residence of the search warrant was located at 2875 Borden Street and is the residence of Daquin R. Simmons. During the execution of the search warrant Officers located multiple items of drug paraphernalia consistent with the sales and distribution of illegal narcotics. Officers recovered Alpha-PVP and marijuana. Due to the residence being within 1000 feet of a New Mount Olive Baptist Church, Simmons is being charged with two counts of Possession with intent to sell a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a Church as well as other charges which are listed above. Simmons was not at the residence during the execution of the search warrant and is not currently in custody. A criminal complaint has been filed against Simmons for the above listed charges and an arrest warrant is forthcoming.
*UPDATE*
On 12/29/2016 at approx. 2:25 pm, Officers apprehended Simmons inside of an apartment located within the Marianna Housing Authority. Simmons was arrested without incident and transported to JCCF to await first appearance for the above charges.
