Marianna Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

On October 4th, 2014 at approximately 12:37 p.m., officers with the Marianna Police Department Officers with the Marianna Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Gold Nissan passenger car on Kelson Ave. for a traffic violation. Once officers activated there emergency lights, the driver of the vehicle accelerated and abruptly turned down Amelia Dr. which is a dead end Street. The vehicle pulled into a driveway of a residence and was quickly identified as Devonta Gibson. Gibson was found to be on State Probation for Possession of Marijuana with intent to sale and was extremely nervous. Officer’s canvased the short distance where Gibson traveled down the dead end street and were able to recover a clear plastic baggy which contained a digital scale as well as marijuana which was packaged for sale. Devonta Gibson was arrested for the above listed charges and was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
