On December 15, 2014 members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received information on the location of a suspect with a felony warrant for Violation of State Probation. The suspect had eluded capture on the warrant on previous occasions.
Acting on the information, members of patrol, K-9 and the investigation divisions set up in the area, along with the tracking K-9 units from both JCI and ACI in an attempt to catch the suspect.
Upon the vehicle arriving in the area that the suspect was suppose to be a passenger in, deputies attempted to make contact at the intersection of Panhandle Rd and Dean Rd but the suspect fled from the vehicle on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody by members of the Sheriff’s Office and the K-9 tracking teams without injury to anyone.
A search of the passenger area of the vehicle where the suspect fled from did reveal a small amount of marijuana, digital scales and several pieces of crack cocaine, which were broken up to be sold.
