Marianna Murder Suspect Turns Himself In

Shortly after 1:00 pm on March 19, 2017 Ja’Drian La”Quin Gilbert turned himself into the Marianna Police Department and was subsequently transported the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await his first court appearance. The Marianna Police Department would like to thank the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Marianna Fire and Rescue, Jackson County Fire and Rescue, 14th Judicial Circuit State’s Attorney’s Office, and the District 14 Medical Examiner’s Office for all of their assistance in this case.

On March 18th, 2017 at approximately 10:40am, officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to a residence in the 4100 Block of Old Cottondale Road, Marianna, Florida in reference to a subject being shot. Upon officers arrival they found the victim, later identified as Gregory Barnett Jr., of Marianna, Florida, lying in the yard of the residence. EMS was summoned and pronounced the victim deceased.
During the course of the investigation a suspect, Ja’Drian L. Gilbert, was developed and probable cause was gathered to support an arrest warrant for an open count of murder.
