Subject of Release: Subject arrested for Felony Retail Theft

Arrestee: Timothy Lamar Stephens            B/M       52YOA                

              Marianna, Florida 32448

Charges: Felony Retail Theft  

              Felon in Possession of Unlawful Devices (OC/CS spray)  

              Possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams)                      

On April 27th 2015 at approx. 1634 hrs. Officers responded to Winn-Dixie located at 4478 Lafayette Street in reference to a subject who was possibly shoplifting in the store. There was a Police Officer inside the store at the time of the incident and was able to identify the subject as Timothy Lamar Stephens. The Officer in the store notified Officers who were waiting outside that Stephens was exiting the store with items he hadn’t paid for. Stephens was approached in the parking lot pushing a shopping cart with approx. $257.22 worth of meats in it and was placed under arrest. Due to Stephens prior convictions for shoplifting he will be charged with Felony Retail Theft. Once Stephens was placed under arrest a search of his person was conducted and Officers located a canister of Sabre OC/CS spray on Stephens person as well as a small amount of marijuana.

Stephens is a convicted Felon and is therefore prohibited from carrying the OC/CS spray. Stephens is charged with the above listed charges and was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility where he will await first appearance.
