On July 30, 2016 at approximately 3:52 a.m. officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to the EZ Quick Stop on Carter’s Mill Rd. in reference to a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers noticed a shattered glass panel. Upon entry of the business, officers noticed the inside of the store in the area of the check-out counter to be in disarray. As the owners of the business arrived, an inventory of items was made. It was concluded that three cartons of cigarettes were missing from behind the counter.
While observing the footage recorded by the store security cameras, a black male wearing a grey t-shirt and dark blue jeans was seen walking from behind the building. The suspect was also wearing a striped shirt around his head to cover his face and what appeared to be socks on his hands and arms.
He was observed shattering the glass with a brick at approximately 3:47 a.m. He then entered through the front window and made his way over the counter, where he obtained three cartons of cigarettes. The suspect was observed immediately exiting through the same window and fleeing the area on foot towards Carter’s Mill Road.
At this time there is no further information in reference to this incident. If anyone has any information please call Crimes Stoppers at 850-526-5000 or the Marianna Police Department at 850-526-3125.
