On 04-11-2012 officers of the Marianna Police Department came upon a burglary, in progress, of the ABS Office Supply building located at 4189 Lafayette St. Marianna Fl. 32446. The suspect had forced entry at the back of the business by removing plywood that covered an air conditioner port. He then stacked blocks so he could climb through the hole in the wall. The suspect, Lazaro Jesus Frias, was observed by the Police Shift Supervisor through a window while the suspect was in the act of hammering and cracking open the businesses’ safe with burglary tools. The suspect was taken into custody without incident inside the business. The cash the suspect had removed from the safe was returned to the owner.
The suspect is being charged with burglary for unlawfully entering ABS Office Supply and committing theft and criminal mischief therein. In addition, preliminary investigations into five other burglaries cases indicate that Lazaro Frias is the suspected perpetrator in those cases. Evidence collected at those other scenes has been sent to the FDLE Crime Lab in Pensacola Fl. for analysis and comparison to the evidence in this case. Charges in those five burglary cases will be pending the results of forensic examination of that evidence.
