Marianna Police Make an Arrest in Recent Shooting

On 09/15/2015 Officers with the Marianna Police Department observed a black male lying in the middle of Milton Avenue just south of the railroad tracks. When officers got out to check on the subject they observed an apparent injury to his right hand, which was later found to be a gunshot wound. The victim was able to tell officers that he had been shot in the area of Yost St. and Graves St... The victim was transported to a Hospital in Dothan Al. with non-life threatening injuries. Officers were later able to determine that the shooting took place on Yost St. between Harley Dr. and Graves Street, around 2:15am. The victim said that two people chased him and began shooting at him and described one as being a large black male with dreads. UPDATE 

On 09/18/2015 Officers with the Marianna Police Department were able to obtain a warrant for the Arrest of David Brantley Deveaux 20yoa black male from Blountstown, FL, for aggravated battery with a firearm. Deveaux was taken into custody without incident in Blountstown by members of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
