Marianna Police make Two Arrest

On August 9th, 2015 at approximately 2:08 a.m., Officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a gray Ford Expedition on Herring Avenue for failing to stop at a stop sign. Contact was then made with the driver of the vehicle, Jennifer Stephenson as well as the front seat passenger who was identified as Jeff Bell Jr. It was known to Officers that Jeff Bell Jr. had active felony warrants for fleeing from officers in the same vehicle a few weeks ago. Officers then checked the status of Stephenson’s license and it was discovered that Stephenson’s license were suspended and she is considered a habitual traffic offender. Officers were given consent to search the vehicle and during the search officers located a cigarette pack in the vehicle which contained 16 baggies of a white powdery substance which field tested positive for cocaine. Also recovered was a partially smoked cigarette which was also field tested and tested positive for the presence of cocaine. Bell and Stephenson were both arrested and charged with the above listed charges and both subjects were transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility where they will await first appearance.
