McLane Dothan To Expand In Houston County Distribution Park

Dothan, Ala. — McLane Dothan, part of the grocery division of McLane Co. Inc., announced today the Houston County Commission approved agreements to support McLane Dothan's expansion at the Houston County Distribution Park.

"Today is another exciting day in the history of the Houston County Distribution Park and our efforts to spur economic development progress within our region. We are pleased to support McLane Dothan's expansion at our Advantage Site Houston County Distribution Park that will involve a $17 million investment and add another 50 jobs," stated Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver.

 "We appreciate McLane's investment in our community and are pleased to support this major expansion. Additionally, we thank the Alabama Department of Commerce/AIDT, the Wiregrass Legislative Delegation, our commission, the City of Dothan and Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce for their work and support on this investment. We also want to thank our utility partners serving the park with Wiregrass Electric Cooperative, CenturyLink, Houston County Water Authority and Southeast Alabama Gas District."

Since it opened in October 1999, McLane Dothan was the first employer and grocery distributor in the Houston County Distribution Park. Servicing customers in Alabama, Florida Panhandle and the southern half of Georgia, this McLane division employs 300 teammates from the tri-state area. The new project will involve adding extra building space and equipment to support their continued growth to serve the Southeastern United States.

"We look forward to growing our footprint within the park as well as creating more jobs, much like we've done the past 17 years."
