Midland City Man Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance

On June 20th, 2014 the Dothan Narcotics Investigators attempted to stop a 2008 Dodge Nitro near the intersection of South Park Avenue and Magnolia Avenue for a traffic violation. After activating their emergency lights to initiate the traffic stop, officers were led on a short vehicle pursuit through the Garden District sub-division. During the pursuit, objects were thrown from the vehicle, which were recovered and later identified as cocaine. The vehicle came to a stop near the intersection of South Park Avenue and Decatur Street where the driver, now identified as Andre Lewis, was taken into custody.
- Andre Lewis, black male, 34 years of age, of Midland City, Alabama was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. A bond amount has been set at $15,000.00.
All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
