Monroe Street Shooting Suspect in Custody

On August 20, 2014 the Dothan Police Department was notified of a firearm assault which was reported to have occurred in the area of the 700 block of Monroe Street. While in route to that location, officers were advised a subject had arrived at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers met with the victim, a 20 year old male, and were told he was shot by a black male who he knew only as “Lil C”.

 

An immediate investigation was started, and as a result of the information gathered during that time, “Lil C” was identified as Christopher Griffin.

 

Griffin was located on the 2600 block of Denton Road, where he was taken into custody later that evening and charged with first degree Assault.

 

 

• Christopher Denard Griffin, black male, 28 years of age, of Napier Field Road was arrested and charged with first degree Assault. A bond amount has been set at $100,000.00.

 

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
