SLOCOMB, AL – After much thought and consideration, Slocomb small business owner, Vickie Moore, has decided not to pursue the office of State Representative for the 87th District of Alabama.
“I am incredibly thankful to each and every one of my supporters,” Moore said, “and I am immeasurably proud and appreciative of what we have accomplished together.”
The owner of a Slocomb salon, Moore knows firsthand the importance of building a strong economy, providing incentives for new businesses and creating an educated and eager work force. “After spending these last few months conversing with Alabamans from all walks of life, I remain strong in my belief that these needs exist. For now, however, I feel I can better address these issues here at home in Slocomb, than in Montgomery,” Moore said.
Throughout her several years as a Slocomb-area public servant, former Mayor Moore has been a firm supporter of good government and believes that the best way to advance the interests of Alabamians is to work together and build a consensus in Montgomery. Although Moore regrets that she will not be able to represent the citizens of the 87th District in Montgomery, she will continue to work to make Geneva County a better place and support those candidates that share the same goal.
Mrs. Moore deeply appreciates all those who have dedicated their time and efforts to the campaign. She hopes each supporter will join her in continuing to be an active and engaged citizen of District 87.
