More Concerning The Eufaula Accident On Friday

BARBOUR COUNTY - HOUSTON COUNTY: On Friday we posted a bad traffic accident in Barbour County. The accident required two helicopters to respond, one being our Wiregrass Life Flight and one being Haynes Ambulance.

On Saturday the daughter of one of the accident victims contacted me via text message. Someone had directed her to RSN for scene pictures. We had a text message dialogue about her mother's condition. I also had the opportunity of answering some questions about Dothan for her.

Later I had the pleasure of meeting her and her fiancée. They were from Atlanta Georgia. Her mother and a friend were traveling to Panama City Beach when the accident occured.

Her mother had a cut on her eyebrow but other than that her face is fine but left leg shattered, right knee and foot broken ( already did surgery on that ), her left arm is broken in 10 places. She had undergone several surgeries. Today the medical staff was expected to do surgery on arm and other leg. Currently she is in Neuro ICU on a ventilator helping her breathe.

The passenger had a stomach laceration but is expected to be fine.

Tonight they sent me the picture of her mom and they have established a gofundme account. The daughter abruptly had to come to Dothan. It is not known how long the stay is.

A motel room was paid for on Saturday but the stay is longer.
