Motor Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of an Ariton Woman

DOTHAN POST – A two-vehicle crash at approximately 10:45 a.m. today, Oct. 14, claimed the life of an Ariton woman.  Lauren Brooke Strickland, 20, was killed when the 2007 Mazda 6 she was driving collided with a 2014 International tractor-trailer driven by Clarence Hardison, 50, of Portsmouth, Va.  Strickland, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Hardison was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The crash occurred on Alabama 10 five miles east of Clio. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
