DOTHAN: This morning Mr. Bobby Forrest passed from this life into the Gates of Heaven. He was greeted with open arms and heard the words "well done thy good and faithful servant".
I have had the great opportunity to be in church with Mr. Bobby and Mrs. Glenda Forrest. To know their oldest son Josh and when he was a Houston County Sheriff Deputy. He is now with Shelby County Sheriff Department.
And I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing and seeing their son Jacob grow up and into a fine young man, great husband and father. About two years ago for reasons we will never know, GOD needed Jacob in heaven. His life was claimed in a automobile accident on Hodgesville Road.
This morning Mr. Bobby was reunited with Jacob.
Mr. Bobby lived a Christian testimony. He was active in church. Jacob had said that his dad had great joy when he went on mission trips.
When time came for Mr. Bobby to speak at church, hang on. You never knew what he would start with.
But it was obvious that Bobby Forrest had accepted Jesus Christ as his LORD. That his accepting was not a "mind thing" but was a "for real with Jesus in his heart".
It was obvious that Mr. Bobby loved his wife Glenda. He loved his two sons Josh and Jacob. It was also how his life had been crushed when Jacob passed away.
Mr. Bobby loved his daughter in laws and grandchildren.
My life is better because I had the opportunity to know Bobby Forrest. Often times speaking at a distance at church because of where he sit and I was in the sound booth, but always a smile and hello when eye contact was made.
I noticed on his FACEBOOK on February 7 Mr. Bobby posted a picture of Jacob with Jesus. Now, both Jacob and Mr. Bobby are with Jesus.
To Mrs. Glenda, Josh, both daughter in laws and grandchildren, I know your hearts are heavy and the burden is hard. But look up and look forward. You all are in GOD’S HANDS and not walking alone. And you have a church family, Memphis Baptist Church and a community that loves you.
THE COMING OF THE LORD
Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not procede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13 - 18
