GENEVA COUNTY: This morning in a standing room only crowd, Nathan Mathis made a proposal to the Geneva County Commission that would help generate six million dollars a year for the county. Mathis who has Native American ties has offered to build a Indian controlled casino in Geneva County that would generate the much needed money to help build a new jail and buy more equipment for the county and sheriff’s office. County Commission Chairman Fred Hamic, stated that the commission would first have to let the county attorney look at the proposal and check law on Indian Casinos in Alabama before asking any questions.
