     NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT

OF COLORED PEOPLE

HENRY COUNTY BRANCH, ALABAMA STATE CONFERENCE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

We believe in law and order for all citizens, including police officers.

It is with deep concern that we demand that law enforcement be held to a higher standard than the citizens that they serve.  This means that law enforcement officers should be trained in something other than shooting people, beating them, or tazing them while they are restrained in handcuffs.  When the public begins to see law enforcement officers behave like this, they should complain.  When law enforcement officials get these complaints, there should be some sort of an investigation, instead of excuses, cover ups, and threats.  Until these officers are better trained, reprimanded, and/or terminated, the complaints will continue.

Law and order should also apply to the police.  Disorderly police cannot keep the peace.

Respectfully submitted by Min. Dorothea Culver, President
