New Brockton Man Killed in Holmes County Crash

Holmes County, FL: Holmes County Emergency Units were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at around 11:00 a.m. this morning. A 1993 Chevrolet Astro Van was travleing southbound on State Road 81. According to witnesses, the driver of the vehicle may have experienced a medical condition based on actions taken prior to the collision. The vehicle left the roadway and did not take evasive action or correcting itself, possibly due to the medical condition. The vehicle then struck a large tree and subsequently became engulfed in flames. The driver was unable to escape the vehicle therefore he lost his life due to the fire and the collision. The New Brockton Police Department did make notification of next  of kin. The driver, James S. Wilson, 49, of New Brockton, AL, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
