New Life Center (Christian Recovery Program) in Enterprise, Alabama offers more than hope; they offer eternal life, through Jesus Christ, to individuals who have fallen victim to illicit drug use. Not only does New Life Center reach out to help those addicted, they also reach out to the family and friends of each participant.

I was invited to attend a “graduation” by an individual who just completed the 16-week Christ based program. The graduation was held at the Calvary Baptist Church, located on Highway 51 in Enterprise. Calvary Baptist Church went above and beyond to make these individuals graduation very memorable. Hats off to Calvary Baptist! Everyone felt like family.

Spending more than 30 years in law enforcement, I’ve witnessed countless lives and families destroyed by drugs, both prescription and illegal. I’ve seen the impact it had on members of my own family… death. If anyone reads this article and thinks for one minute that you are not affected by illegal drugs, you need to get your head out of the sand, because you are.

From my perspective as a former law enforcement officer, I believe drug and alcohol abuse are responsible for 99.99% of all crime. The only crime I do not believe is brought about by drugs and/or alcohol abuse are the sexually motivated crimes. And yes, probably most sex crimes would not occur if the perp was not high or drunk.

The recovery program that New Life Center offers is one that can and will work for any person with an addiction. But, keep in mind that no program will work unless the individual is serious about getting clean. Too often, individuals with addiction problems want to “beat the system” and not the addiction.

If an individual is serious about kicking their addiction, Bro. Dwight Deal and the other Pastors involved with New Life Center know what the cure for addiction is. The cure: Is to make a serious commitment and develop a true love for Jesus Christ and our God who created all things. That’s what the focus of the New Life Center is about.

Drugs are the devil’s tool. It is his way to control lives, destroy families and possibly meet him face-to-face one day if death comes before repentance.

The message delivered tonight (Friday) by Bro. Deal was a message to all in attendance (self-included). We may not all suffer from drugs or alcohol abuse, but we all need to examine ourselves and our relationship with Christ. One day we will be judged whether we want to believe it or not.

There is hope for the addicted. New Life Center knows what that hope is. Please support the New Life Center in Enterprise, AL because they are very sincere and committed to saving ALL the lost.

Also, if you’ve never heard Mr. Walt Wilson, of Dothan, AL, sing, you’re missing a great musical ministry. Not many dry eyes at the end of the service tonight but it sure was a good wake-up call to all of us in attendance.

Much more to come on this wonderful ministry...
